Three Montsant by René Barbier

71,00 €

This month we present a selection of three Montsant wines with a common denominator, the person who conceives and creates them. This is René Barbier, a winemaker recognized worldwide for his good work in Priorat or Montsant. The three wines that we present to you are made in the same winery, although with different patterns and names, specifically in the Celler Laurona located in the town of Falset, the neuralgic center of the wines of Montsant and Priorat. The first wine is Jardins de Clarena 2013, a novelty by Celler Laurona conceived with the idea of presenting the friendliest face of Montsant wines. Elaborated with syrah, garnacha and cariñena in a traditional way, it undergoes an aging in wood for eight months. Intense on the nose, it is smooth and balanced on the palate. A Montsant that invites you to repeat. Short-term consumption The second wine is also a novelty of the winery and responds to the name of Mítico de Laurona. Made with old varieties of Garnacha and Cariñena together with a selection of Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet, and an aging of between 12 and 18 months in 500 liter barrels and subsequent rest in the bottle for four years, it is a wine with an intense and complex aroma that in the mouth it is unctuous, velvety, long and fruity. Its mature tannins ensure its evolution over the next ten years. Production limited to 40,000 bottles The third wine is the Nautilea 2015, also made at the Laurona facilities but under the Galilea brand, a project born from the association of the Swiss wine merchant Fiona Fischer and René Barbier. Made basically with Garnacha and Cariñena, it ferments in 50 Hl. of French oak and later it also ages in them. It is a fresh wine, where the fruit predominates. Easy to drink it appears to be a small jewel born from the hand of one of the most reputable winemakers in the world. Production limited to 13,000 bottles.
